The Courageous Spark
Your spark of awakening to True Self

My journey so far
I thought I’d share a bit about me and how I ended up believing so deeply in metaphysical practices and the idea of going deep within ourselves to find the peace we are all seeking. Throughout my teen years I’d been looking for something “out there,” a something that was greater than me. I believed there was a power that would bring peace and love “to” me. Something that would explain why we are here and what we are meant to do. I can’t explain it. It was some deep urging tha

What's your problem...with meditation?
Take time to meditate you're told. Like you have time, right? Believe it or not, though…5 minutes of your day is really all you need to just begin. Those 5 minutes can have an immediate impact on your mind, body, and spirit. Just words, right? What keeps people from pursuing meditation even knowing the positive impact it would have on their daily lives? See if any of these ring true to you: TIME: Too busy. People find themselves “doing” too much, which keeps them busy

Voice of Life
They both listened silently to the water, which to them was not just water, but the voice of life, the voice of Being, the voice of perpetual Becoming.” -- Hermann Hesse #reiki #waterlife #peace #contentment #becoming #tranquil #voiceoflife #life #silence #beginning #hermannhesse #meditation #lovemydaughter Feel free to share this with a friend! Finding strength in your weakness
To have compassion for others you must first practice compassion with yourself. It's difficult to do when so many of us live in the past, chastising ourselves for what we did wrong or how we acted poorly. It takes courage to face ourselves and show compassion to our past actions. We did the best we could based on what we knew then. We've grown from them. Today, I read a wonderful post from The International House of Reiki that I’d like to share with you. The link is at the

The Shadow Knows
(I realize this post is longer than usual, but I sincerely hope that you give it a read and contemplate how, by the end of it, it may have helped you in your own growth.) I mentioned on my website recently that I’ve been introduced to the writings of Carl Jung. The reference on my website was in regard to how Jung considered tarot a method of identifying archetypes that we share in all cultures. However, on further Jung reading, I’ve become acquainted with the “shadow self”

The Ongoing-ness of Becoming...
This Reiki journey that I’ve chosen has ensured that my life is not stagnant. I am not only expanding my own awareness of energy healing, I am discovering areas of the psyche I never thought I’d pursue so intensely. Recently, and inevitably, I have found Carl Jung’s books. These readings have whisked me off to a new level of familiarity with the unconscious mind…and with this new understanding and acceptance, comes growth and changes. I hope you will continue on this journ

Being a Life-long Learner
I purchased my first singing bowl from The Ohm Store. Loving the beautiful vibrations and tones. I will be including this in my Reiki sessions. "To be a "life-long" learner is to experience constant energy, excitement and curiosity for what you don't already know. Imagine waking each day with the anticipatory excitement that something new is just over the horizon". The Ohm Store Beautiful artwork by: Susan Seddon Boulet Feel free to share this with a friend! Looking Within
I've spent years fretting about my life's purpose. Wondering just what exactly my passion might be. Unable to answer that dreaded question, "if you knew absolutely that you could not fail, what would you do/be"? Now, with more years behind me than ahead of me, I'm accepting what I believe to be true. Consider this: what if we took away the words purpose, passion, life path, & bliss and just focused on developing our best self? What if our true purpose is to strive to be t

The Spirit of Spirit
I have been feeling overwhelmed lately. I thought spirit had left me alone to fend for myself. In reality I had left spirit and went off on my own. I don't really know how I fell out of spirit...mundane things in life getting in the way, overwhelming angst over what should be done/could be done/must be done, and just overall not feeling well physically. These are all excuses of course. I fell out of spirit because I allowed ego distractions to take the place of spirit. I

Being Human
No matter who we are, what we believe, who we love, the color of our skin... we are human. No one race/gender is better than anyone else. Judgement, hate, intolerance are all learned beliefs. Learn to live in child-mind...the innocence of what we knew before we were burdened with society's "norms". Love all and everything. Let's bring humanity back to being human. "The fundamental delusion of humanity is to suppose that I am here and you are out there." Yashutani Roshi Fe

Be Awesome First
Mikao Usui knew that before we can be compassionate toward others we have to practice self-compassion. As we meditate on what compassion and self-compassion mean we begin to comprehend that to practice compassion we need to let go of many thoughts, actions, and negative energies that have become almost second nature to us. Working toward self-compassion then becomes a journey in itself. To be compassionate to self, let go of ideas or need for perfection. Start today and liste

Living a Spiritual Experience
I'm sharing this from https://paulocoelhoblog.com/category/stories/page/2/ page. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Much love to all today. "Our duty, as men and women, is to proceed as if limits to our ability did not exist. We are collaborators in creation. In the final analysis, the questions of why bad things happen to good people transmutes itself into some very different questions, no longer asking why something happened, but asking how we will respond, what we i

Discovering Your Truth
We are born with one intensity of spirit energy. Consider it a great, bright light. Mikao Usui used the metaphor of lampshades to illustrate how we go out into the world and the world begins to cover our true light (true self) with lampshades. As more and more lampshades are placed on us (through shades of judgments, expectations, anger, worries, depression, anxiety, etc…) our true self (our great light) becomes hidden. Our journey then is to begin lifting those lampshades of

The Purpose of Life
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. Daily Practice
When practiced daily, Reiki moves beyond a hands-on healing modality to a healing, spiritual journey. It’s this evolution that brings you closer to rediscovering the great bright light (Dai Komyo) that is your true self. As we practice our light moves beyond the shadows and into its greatest brilliance. To live the Reiki precept Be Humble we shine our light out to all around us, with love and acceptance. That light then moves beyond us, through energy and vibrations, and crea

What's Normal?
"Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one that is to come?" Rumi When contemplating your return to "normal" post COVID19, consider not following the norm. Embrace new thoughts and new ideas. Open yourself up to a new and more dynamic now. Escape all that has been and turn toward all that can be. You are

What's a Chakaruna?
There have been concerns raised on the practice of shamanism in the West. Those who have served as shamans for lifetimes worry that perhaps the West teachings are spread too thin and they may not be true to the authentic practice. They have cause for concern. There will always be practitioners who might be providing services through less than pure reasons. It's important to know who your practitioner is and their expertise. I believe that if your intent is true an
