Reiki Precepts

Mikao Usui's Reiki precepts are a code of practice, meant to be recited daily, to contemplate their meaning. Due to the precepts being written in kanji, there are various interpretations to be found. The precepts that I am highlighting come from the ones written on the memorial erected in 1927 at Saihoji Temple in Tokyo by his students.

I have listed two below. The first one is very close to what most Reiki practitioners highlight. The second one I think is more contemplative, so I am offering the two interpretations to you. Both of these are quoted from Frans Stiene's* book, The Inner Heart of Reiki.

I hope you find one that resonates with you and begin your own contemplative practice of the precepts.
